    Thanks for your comments on this one and I agree with the laptop not doing the art justice. ce

    When I finished this piece I though it was an ok landscape and then a good friend flipped it to portrait and there it was! “The Oak and the Cypress”. As with any painting there are many interpretations and the woman burning at the tree is apparent. However, this painting is also symbolic of the fact that feminine energy cannot be destroyed. It is a glorious celebration that Mother Earth can find balance and we cannot repress or destroy this balance. It is good to find hope in every piece of Art. I think it is always there, although it is sometimes hidden.
