The Diary

My words they slept so soundly
beneath a  lock and key
Secrets I have hoarded
since turning the age of three

I’ve never been a dancer
thought  I’d always try
Writing with good rhythm
is what I can’t deny

My voice was simply silent
the tales that I could tell
Well now they’re going viral
just so my head can swell

This is very rich, excellent. I never kept a diary or journal–it wasn’t safe. But as you know, there are things, secrets, we can’t forget–hard as we try–so it comes out in the poetry or prose, at least for me. And sometimes I just pray.

I wanted to thank you so much for subscribing to/following my blog–I appreciate it, and will be back from time to time to visit you. God bless you today, and always!

I think we all have a diary in our heart, I feel so fortunate that I am able to express mine in words and art. Communicating openly is the key to freedom for all of us.
Thank you so much for visiting my blog and commenting. I have been reading many of your comments on other blogs and I so appreciate that you take the time to do so. It is of great importance to me. I am looking forward to following your blog.

Thank you for voicing what so many of us have done subconsciously ~ the more we identify with each other realising we are not alone the freer we become untangling our knots thru breath &expression.

Thank you for this acknowledgement. I feel compelled to voice and to support others to do so. I agree, the more we support each other, without judgement, the faster we will evolve.
Thanks for the follow, Your blog is beautiful, I felt like I was sitting in your living room as I was visiting last night.

I guess the Internet would find a way to handle it, since it seems to be Alive! All one has to do is work the Internet and before you know it – it’s gone viral!!! And Coca Cola, WalMart, hackers and bla bla bla bla thought they had it figured out. They will never go viral, the good always prevails.

Another coincidence??? I was just saying to myself in Yoga class this morning “what if everyone in the world did Yoga at the same time”

I’m usually partial to blank verse, but this is pleasantly short and sweet.

A diary is really a very special thing. It’s like a wide-angle view of our entire personality, isn’t it?

    Hello Jackie,

These lines are excellent and they right away get the reader’s attention.
Thank you for visiting my site and to let me know you came over to visit.
I will be back to read more of you.

    Ciao, Francina

Thank you Francina, I really appreciate getting feedback on a specific stanza or line within a poem. It lets me know where the good stuff is. Although a poem can be great as a whole, I do find there are usually one or two lines that have incredible meaning for me.

Thanks for the comments and visit

This must be the post with the most comments so far. Look what your Diary Poem has unleashed. Jackie, you and your writing and your art are HAPPENING events. I don’t want to spoil it all by mentioning the “M” word, but are they with us, those “M”en?

I guess this is what happens when you bring your diary out of the closet. I think the subject matter of this little poem is one that most writers can identify with. And now that I am out there I guess that means ALL the poetry can go on. hmmm

    Thanks for the acknowledgement Joanna
